Having read other reviews before visiting I would agree the welcome is not the warmest and they certainly won't be winning any awards for Customer Service excellence (I'm wondering if it's a deliberate "vibe") but look beyond the cool and almost disinterested staff and you will find a wonderful place tucked away in the centre of Manchester serving excellent food and drinks. The Decor is modern and stripped back, the music selection is spot on and the service was swift. All in all I can overlook the lack of warmth from the staff because everything else was top quality.

It's great to have such a fun selection of vegan pies, I couldn't choose just one so got the cherry pie with cream and the gingerbread pie. Both we super tasty, I really enjoyed. I like the atmosphere and the decor of the place. I just wished for bigger coffee and for the pies to be served warm ????

I’ve been here a couple of times already and never disappointed me. The coffee is very good and the quality of food is great - it’s such a nice place to go for brunch. Just make sure to either arrive early or be prepared to wait for a table cause they are always full. Also - try the cherry pie. It’s the best one I had so far.

Manchester on a Sunday Morning for Bruch was a lot busier than we thought. Luckily we got a table at Idle Hands. I'm super glad we did. Lovely atmosphere. We ordered and shared: Meaty Hash Brown Stack and Divorced Eggs. Both tasted fantastic. Food came quickly and was presented like a work of art. It was so good, I really can't recommend it enough. I ordered one of their famous pies and can tell why. I got the Banana Milk Pie and it was so light and creamy. Top marks.

The flat white was phenomenal, the roast on the beans was perfect along with an obviously very skilled barista making the liquid velvet that was served to me. That being said the welcome to this delightful cafe was not warm nor friendly, I was greeted with a 'go sit down, use the qr code on the table' by a disinterested looking member of staff, which was a shame and the low point of the visit. The food I observed coming from the open plan kitchen looked scrumptious along with the cream pies on display in the fridge looking most inviting. I am hoping I just caught a good staff member on a bad day and definitely plan on returning to try again hopefully with a better more welcoming greeting.
